News of a ticket machine to be introduced at Dent Station, a new Police Community Support Officer for Dentdale and the boarding up of the sports pavilion were discussed at the latest Parish Council Meeting.
The Parish Council took its annual trip up the dale for its meeting at the Sportsman’s Inn, Cowgill and supported the planning application to install a ticket machine on the northbound platform as well as CCTV and two customer information screens – one on each platform.
The new Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) covering Dentdale, Marion ‘Maz’ Jeffery attended the meeting. Whilst she is new to the area she is not new to policing and has several years’ experience. Maz will be available on the 1st Thursday of every month at Dent Stores between 11am and 12pm, or at Sedbergh Police Office above the TIC at most other times.
The council agreed that the pavilion sited on the playing field is no longer usable as it is too badly damaged. As the council has a duty of care to ensure it is safe it was decided to have it boarded up and made secure until a more permanent solution is found.
