This year’s annual summer Gala is due to take place on Bank Holiday Monday (August 27) with fun for all the family lined up.
The action starts at 11am on the school field with the childrens’ Fancy Dress competition – Animal or Vegetable? This will be followed by the Dog Show with organisers also hoping to run a Pet Show.
Dogs can be registered on the day, but anyone interested in entering their small pet should speak to Jill Mitchell, or Sarah Woof, in advance.
Other attractions include traditional sideshows, a Bouncy Castle, activity tent, family races, raffle, book stall, bric-a-brac, BBQ and refreshments with members of Dentdale Women’s Institute, once again, providing their famed Afternoon Teas in the hall from 1.30pm.
Local band Rawthey Rhythm have been invited back to provide live music and attractions in the ring will include a children’s entertainer. The action comes to a close after the ever-popular egg-throwing contest at 3.30pm.
Any offers of help would be appreciated; for more information contact Sarah Woof on 01539 625212.
