Western Dales Bus, which runs scheduled bus services between Dent Station, Dent, Sedbergh, Kirkby Stephen and Kendal, has been awarded £77,000 from one of the UK’s largest charitable funders. The funding will enable the community-run charity to replace the older of its two buses with a new one.

The Garfield Weston Anniversary Fund was launched earlier this year to mark the Foundation’s 60th year, and has awarded funding to charities to improve their existing facilities or provide new ones. After receiving over 2,300 applications, its £5m fund was increased to over £11m so it could support over 150 charities and community organisations across the UK.

“We’re delighted that Western Dales Bus is one of them” Jock Cains, Chair of the Western Dale Bus said.
