Ideally situated for the Dales Way and Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way, Stone Close provides a warm welcome for walkers, cyclists and all visitors to the quiet, picturesque village of Dent.

Stone Close is a 17th Century listed building, which was once two separate cottages. It has flagstone floor, cast iron ranges (with fires lit in cold weather) exposed beams and original fittings.

The Tea Room is famed for its delicious home baking and good, wholesome food, which is freshly cooked on the premises, using local, seasonal and organic produce as far as possible.

 

In addition, you can always be sure of a vegetarian, dairy free, vegan and gluten free option on the menu - and any other special dietary requirement can be catered for — just let us know.

Some examples from our menu

Lentil soup, served with a sprinkle of mint and fresh locally baked bread, £3.25

Morecambe Bay Potted Shrimps, served with a small salad and your choice of bread, rice cakes or oatcakes. £5.50.

Avocado Pear and Pine Nuts salad with oil and balsamic vinegar dressing, served With your choice of bread, rice or oat cakes. £5.50.

"Meal in a Pot": Fennel and Aduki Beans, served with crusty bread £5.50

Spiced Butternut Squash, Sweet Potato and Butterbeans, served with yoghurt and homemade chutney £6.00                     

Lamb Hotpot, served with beetroot £6,00

STONE CLOSE GUEST HOUSE

On the ground floor we have an en-suite twin bedded room. This is a lovely room with original cast iron fireplace, which is thought to date from about 1840 and is reputed to be the oldest in the village. The walk-in wet-room is ideal for guests with limited mobility.
Room rate: £70 per night.

 

There are also two double bedrooms on the first floor, each with a hand-basin, and sharing a bathroom.
Room rate: £50 per night.

Each room has television, radio and tea & coffee making facilities. In addition, guests are welcome to make use of the Tea Room in the evenings (occasionally the Tea Room opens for dinner in the evenings - please check on arrival for availability).

 

 

 

Breakfast is served in the Tea Room.

Our standard breakfast includes fresh fruit, juice, cereal or porridge, yoghurt, eggs (poached, boiled, scrambled or fried), with unlimited toast and a wide choice of tea and herbal infusions or organic fair trade coffee..

Full English breakfast can be ordered the night before. There is an additional charge of £2.50.

Packed lunches can be ordered from the Tea Room.


In addition to providing good food and comfortable accommodation.
Stone Close doubles as a National Park information point.
