Road
Leave the M6 motorway at junction 37. If you are coming from the
north of junction 37, turn left. If you are coming from
the south of junction 37, turn right. Continue on the
road for approximately 6 miles to Sedbergh. Dent is then
signposted and is about 4 miles from Sedbergh.

Leave the
A65 at Kirkby Lonsdale, heading for Sedbergh. At barbon
village look for the signs to Dent |

travelling on the A1

Exit at
Northallerton junction, heading west on ythe A684 towards
Leyburn and Hawes. At Hawes take the B6255 towards Ingleton,
looking out for the turning to Dent. |
By
train

Access
can be by rail, either from Oxenholme on the main West Coast
line, 30 minutes away, or from Dent Station on the
Leeds-Settle-Carlisle line, 4 miles away. |

Train
North West Trains (Regional Railways) and Virgin Trains (Cross
Country and West Coast) services travel through Oxenholme
Station. The station is 16 miles from Dent. There are taxis
at the station, and there is a bus service. Alternatively you
can pre-book one of the local taxi/private hire businesses.
Alternatively,
travel from Leeds/Carlisle on the Northern Spirit service,
travelling on the Settle to Carlise route to Dent Head stations.
Note: The station are unmanned and you will need to pre-arrange
travel from the station, although a bus services does operate on
Sundays through Summer.
Bus
A new Bus Service 564B has been introduced on
Wednesdays on the following route: Cowgill - Dent Village -
Sedbergh - Kendal. |
