Stone Close is popular with locals, writers, walkers,
artists, talkers – in fact, with everyone who chances upon
this convivial 17th century cottage, with its
cast-iron range, flagstone floor exposed beams and original
fittings.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in the Tea Room but we are
unable to accommodate pets in the Guest Rooms.

STONE CLOSE TEA ROOM
The Tea Room
is famed for its delicious home baking and good, wholesome food,
which is freshly cooked on the premises, using local, seasonal,
organic and Fair Trade produce as far as possible. We also try to
cater for most dietary requirements.
Open all year,
we are open 10.00am to 5.00pm, Wednesday to Sunday and Bank Holiday
Mondays.

Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and select from some of the hot
or cold seasonal meals made with locally sourced produce as
well as cream teas, toasted fruit tea-cakes, freshly made
sandwiches, scones and a delicious range of home-baked cakes
available throughout the day. |

On the
ground floor we have an en-suite twin bedded room. This is a
lovely room with original cast iron fireplace, which is
thought to date from about 1840 and is reputed to be the
oldest in the village. The walk-in wet-room is ideal for
guests with limited mobility, (there are two steps down from
street level, to access the room).
Room rate: £75 per night including breakfast.

There
are also two double bedrooms on the first floor, each with a
hand-basin, and sharing a bathroom.
Room rate: £55 per night including breakfast.
Each
room has television, radio, and tea & coffee making
facilities. In addition, guests are welcome to make use of
the Tea Room in the evenings, where we have a number of
games available.

Breakfast is served in the Tea Room, between
7.30 and 8.30am on weekdays
and 8.00am to 9.00am on weekends.
Our standard breakfast
includes fresh fruit, juice, cereal or porridge,
yoghurt, eggs (poached, boiled, scrambled or
fried), with unlimited toast and a wide choice
of tea and herbal infusions or fresh coffee.
Full English breakfast
can be ordered the night before. There is an
additional charge of £2.50 per person.
Packed lunches
can be ordered from the Tea Room, £5.00 per
person
Evening Meals for Guests
£15.00 per person (pre booking is required) |
