LOCATION:
Most people come via the M6, take junction 37 and head for
Sedbergh, turning right for Dent 100 yards after the 30mph
signs. In the centre of Dent turn right past the George and
Dragon and we are 1.4 miles along the road on the right hand
side.
If you wish to come by train the Settle Carlisle railway
crosses the head of the valley and we are happy to collect
you from Dent Station. There is no phone there, so let us
know your train times before you set off.
There is lots of information on walks and other attractions
and we have maps that you may borrow with pleasure.
ATTRACTIONS:
It is an easy 20-30 minute walk to the cobbled village of
Dent with its pubs, cafes and shops, or we can give you a
lift.
You can either walk by the river to the village along a
section of the Dales Way, with surprises like the
disappearing water, around every bend; or you can walk down
the quiet road with its wonderful profusion of plant life on
its verges, a result of the policy of not cutting back the
road sides until all the seeds have sown. Canterbury Bells,
primroses and much more make this a real pleasure.
GENERAL:
Dogs
are welcome. Children are also welcome if well behaved and
they will love the garden with all its hidden corners,
swings and so forth.
