Meadowside’s building on The Laning has had many uses over the past century, first a chapel showing as early as 1852 on the historical maps, then garage and storage area in the early part of this century, with living accommodation being added in the latter half of this century, which has all resulted in the present day Meadowside Cafe, with its wonderful and ever changing view of Rise Hill and the countryside at the rear of the cafe.

From breakfast to evening meals we try to provide a warm friendly welcoming atmosphere, good food, and a fairly varied choice to cover all tastes and requirements.

Our freshly cooked breakfasts start the day off well for campers, walkers and day visitors alike.  At lunchtimes we offer anything from homemade soups and sandwiches to homemade pies, stews or a healthy salad.  Delicious home baked goodies are always available with a pot of Yorkshire tea or fresh ‘bean to cup’ coffee.  We are fully licensed so you can enjoy a local beer, glass of wine or whatever takes your fancy!

We plan to open on selected evenings for fish n chip nights, pie & stew nights, Spanish evening etc, and will post details in due course.

Why not have sole use of Meadowside if there are a few of you wanting to have a meal together in an evening?  We offer a three course menu at a reasonable set price, usually from 6pm.  Don’t hesitate to contact us if this is of interest.

Food Hygiene Regulations ( England) 2006

In accordance with EC 852/2004 regulations we have been awarded a " 5 star - excellent " rating by the Local Authority. Our Certificate will be proudly displayed in the cafe to confirm that not only do we care about the quality of our food, but we also care about how we prepare safely.
