Allen Haw lies three miles from Dent village on the road to
Hawes, near to the small hamlet of Cowgill.
Much of the original character has been preserved with large
beams, original floorboards, stone flagged floors and sneck
doors. There is a stone staircase to the upper floor. |

This small farm has a long history. There is an early record
in the Registers of the Richmond Archdeaconry of William
Coupestake of Alanhouse dated 1444, which may refer to this
property. Certainly Alicia Sidgewicke lived there in 1675.
The present house was built in 1746 and is one of the few
that have retained their multi-paned windows, and has other
interesting features
Allen Haw sleeps up to five and is located on a sunny
hillside pasture with magnificent views over Dentdale and
lower Whernside.
Reached along a farm track the location is idyllic,
completely rural and perfect for an away from it all holiday
in an area renowned for its walking, wildlife and superb
scenery. |
